It was around this time last year that I got a call from an old friend, one that I've known since my parents took me out of public school and put me in private Catholic school. My dear friend Caroline Reid (now Carter!) and I used to hangout every day at After School care in junior high and then roam the halls of our alma mater Nolan Catholic High School (GO VIKES!). But when I got the call that she wanted me to be her wedding photographer- I felt a, "we've come full-circle" kind of feeling! 16 years of friendship has led to me traveling all the way to Oregon, IL (about 90 minutes west of Chicago) to take wedding photos of one of my closest friends.
Oh! And did I mention that it was in a WELSCH CASTLE of all places?!?
Oh ya!! And did I mentioned IT SNOWED ON HER WEDDING DAY!!!
Here's a clip off of one of my drones of the snow-covered castle...
And if that wasn't enough to convince you that this was one of the most memorable weddings ever, just wait until you see how BEAUTIFUL Caroline's dress was and how DROP DEAD GORGEOUS she looked in her wedding dress!
And I might be a little biased because my favorite color is purple. But these bridesmaids dresses though...!!!
The ceremony was a simple and short Catholic service.
I love when the wedding party is down to do something fun for their pictures!
I definitely enjoyed their candy bar and all the little details about their reception was perfect!
And when it came down to party, it helps to have a castle so you have plenty of rooms for all your guests to stay! No need to keep the craziness down either; we had the entire castle to ourselves!
But their exit though... Oh. My. Goodness! I've done many sparkler exits. But not one that ended with a lantern release!!!
Overall, the trip up to Illinois was a LOT of fun. And this wedding is definitely one that I will always remember!!! Congratulations Anthony & Caroline! Thank you both so much for having me as part of your super special big day!
