So my story with Matthew and Fawn has been a unique one, to say the least. This engagement session and wedding planning has been a long time coming. I first met them about a year ago through a referral from one of my old sales reps in Cutco and friend. The first time Fawn and I chit-chatted on the phone we went on for over an hour about our love for photography. We were excited to plan out all the engagement stuff but life had other plans for this beautiful couple. A series of unfortunate events followed and it's been a long road to get to where we are today. But here we are one year later, as we near their wedding date this May, I am so glad that we kept up to date with each other and FINALLY was able to get everything in the books! This has to have been one of my favorite engagement session, mostly because of what happened at the end!!!
So the engagement session started off like any other. The first time shooting with any couple you always test the waters to see how comfortable they are taking direction, interacting with each other with a camera, etc. And these two, though they claim they've never had professional photos done, are naturals! So much fun getting to watch them mess with each other. Their love for each other and for God was so apparent. But then out of no where, when it was time to change outfits... THEY FRICKIN' BROUGHT "THE OFFICE" MEMORABILIA! Everything from the "Dunder Mifflin, Paper Company" shirts, a mug with "World's Best Boss" on it and another shirt with MICHAEL SCOTT ON IT!!! AHHH!?!
By the way, that was my exact reaction when I saw the outfits. I definitely made a scene in the middle of the park. And I definitely had people giving me weird looks. Oh well... When you see the photos you'll know exactly why. Haha.
